When do your lights go out? With the new development of LED Backlights TMDisplay achieved a life-time of 100.000 hours (~ 11.4 years MTBF) for displays with LED backlight. Improvement of heat dissipation and light efficiency make this enormous life-time of TFTs of typically 100k hours. Hereby, TMDisplay puts the lid on the already extended temperature range of 70.000 hours MTBF. Already in 2010 mass production for eight displays in four sizes (5.7“, 8.4“, 10.4“ and 12.1“) of the extremely long-life panels will start. These new displays are especially applicable for usage in industrial applications as medical or measurement technology, as they are suitable for long-term or continuous operation.
